Samella has been making dolls for over 39 years.
This particular variation was started January 1, 2000. After thinking about this doll for a couple
of years she then sat down one morning in January 2000, and made the first doll.
Samella's
sewing experience begin when her Mother started teaching her at the early age of 5. IShe has
done alterations, wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses, clothes for herself and grandchildren, but her passion is making
the dolls. Each one is special and she gives all the attention and time required to create each individual
doll.
The entire doll is hand made from embroidering the faces, the button nose, each
outfit, to putting in each strand of hair with a crochet hook. The exact doll is never repeated, making each doll
individually handcrafted and unique in its own way. The dolls come in different ethnicities.
