Hi my names is Liliana Almeraz. I am a freshmen at Cholla High School. I recently turned 15 and had a quinceñera.
A quinceñera is a tradition in the hispanic culture. It is a celebration for a young girl becoming a young woman. Part of
the tradition also is for the young woman to dance for the first time and that dance being with her father. Another part of the celebration is for the quinceñera to walk in with slippers. After the presentation
of her court of honor the father has the priviledge to change her slippers into high-heels which represents leaving her childhood
behind and becoming a woman.
I would like to thank
my parents, granparents, family members and friends for making this day so special and memorable.
